Greetings fellow pilgrims! We are all, after all, pilgrims. We wind and twist our way through life experiencing many joys and sorrows until we find ourselves standing at the gates of heaven or hell, our final destination. We can only go through one, and our whole life is about which gate we’ll pass to spend eternity. I, for one, prefer the pearly gates of heaven, and my life is centered on getting there and helping others get there. I find that I am more-so a pilgrim than others. Most of my life has been short stays in diverse places. This is to remind me that my earthly dwelling is not my final home. Always being on the move is tiring, but full of adventure! I would rather live through life than exist through life. I am going to be a man of many actions. I am, as T.E Lawrence once wrote, “a dreamer of the day,” who is going to live in the real world as an actor, and not merely spending the days and nights dreaming — never accomplishing anything. My goal is to restore all things in Christ, starting with my family and ending with the world, to write well, to see as many different species of birds that I can, and to live a life full of adventures. Some people want to play the hero: I will be the hero that others play. That is the best laid plan of this man and his counselors the mice.
I am Peter Jacob Dantes. A mysterious fellow, slightly odd, smart enough to be slightly mad, educated enough to be free-thinking, and crazy enough to try new and challenging things. I am a Christian, a husband, a father, an aviator, a writer, an amateur naturalist, a terrible beginner violinist, and sometimes short of temper. I live my life for God and country, and I intend to have my life be a living example of handing down the sacred traditions of my forbears and to keep the Western Heritage alive. My heart always remains in Virginia, my claimed native soil, but I am seldom found there, living the warriors life of constant action and travel until my days of pilgrimage cease. Remember semper volans. Always flying. Never stall. Pax Christi.
